Web Design & Development

From static websites and landing pages to rich database-driven web apps, content management systems and ecommerce solutions, I have been a full stack web developer for most of my professional career spanning more than 15 years. I enjoy all aspects of the design and development process and use the latest web standards and technologies to create unique and adaptible websites.

My web-related experience began back in school while developing sites for local organizations and the high school—I also won state championship in a related SkillsUSA competition at the time. I have continued evolving my knowledge and skillset ever since. Recently, a web-based app that I developed was awarded the grand prize in Intel's worldwide App Innovation Contest (one of three consecutive grand prize awards I won).

Academically, I have pursued and excelled at a wide variety of related technical paths, including a perfect 4.0 GPA (Dean's Honor List) from both Milwaukee Area Technical College and Bellevue University. Studies have included a major in ecommerce / web administration (Associate of Applied Science, A.A.S.), web technologies (Bachelor of Science, B.S.) and web design (technical diploma).

Desktop & Mobile Apps

I have been developing a wide array of software applications for a very long time. In 2002, I released my first commercial application to assist with online auction ad creation (as featured in several eBay-related books at the time including "Tricks of the Ebay Masters"). From entertainment and video games to corporate and productivity-related utilities, I always enjoy tackling new projects and helping to solve business-related problems.

Many of my applications have garnered accolades and recognition over the years. In the mid-2000s, a casual computer game I developed was named "Game of the Month" in Europe's biggest computer gaming magazine. During my full-time employment by Marshfield Clinic Health Systems, I received a Golden Cattail Award and Deed Made a Difference for my contributions.

Starting in 2010, my app development experience shifted focus toward the increasingly prominent mobile platforms. I released a series of apps that garnered millions of downloads, one of which was also licensed in bulk by several elementary schools. In 2012-2013, I took part in three Intel-sponsored worldwide app development contests and won the grand prize in all three, where I subsequently completed contract work for Intel's RealSense camera technology. More recently I contracted with National Farm Medicine Center to develop an augmented reality prototype to assist emergency responders on farms.
